If it is infected you need to take him to the doc to get it treated and get the nail trimmed back. Soak his foot in a bowl of warm water with Epsom salts (found in the pharmacy.) This should clear out the infection and drain it. Then dry the toe, apply Neosporin and a bandage.
My friend and dad both had this.





both tried antibiotics and it wasn't strong enough so both had to have the toenail removed. it grows back though.





take him to the doc asap if caught early enough antibiotics may work. over the counter stufd doesn't.
