Do you think i should cut my ferret's nail's or have the vet do it?

If you aren't comfortable clipping them yourself, then I would have a vet do it for the first time. While you're there, have your vet show you how to properly do it yourself, maybe even clip a nail or two yourself so your vet can tell you if you are or aren't doing it right. I don't think you'll want to take your ferrets to the vet for every nail clipping though, as it should be done every other week (that's a lot of vet visits!). If, even after your vet shows you how to do it, you still aren't comfortable doing it yourself, you can go to a pet shop or groomer, they usually only charge about $10 to clip nails.Do you think i should cut my ferret's nail's or have the vet do it?
It is actually really easy to do. You can even use regular nail clippers. Just make sure you don't cut to the vein in their nails and you actually don't need to cut to much, just the tip.

They are very squirmy which can make it more difficult. If you don't feel comfortable doing it then you can have the vet do it.

I would take them to the vets to get them cut for the first time and to show you how but its pretty easy after that. Get some ferretone and while they're distracted cut their nails. Cut only a little of the nail and do not cut past the quick (the red line in the nail) It's pretty easy especially if their young try to do it often to get them used to it. Mine don't even notice they are too focused on licking up all the ferretone :P Good Luck!
You can do it yourself and if you've ever done a dog, then you'll have no problem 'cause it's the same. If in doubt, I'd suggest having your vet show you how. They'll normally be happy to show you ... and as long as you start by only taking the tips off, you will be okay. Just take a bit of practice and some confidence. The vet will also show you how to properly take care of a bleeder should you nip a nail too close.
If you are not 100% confident, then you should probably go to the vet to have it done. A bad nail clip experience is surely something you and your ferret both want to avoid. Just watch them, and I'm sure they will be glad to show you how it's done.
I think you should ask the vet what you should do, or just take him to the vet, i think that might be best
Have the vet do it cause you could hurt your pet when you do it.
