If i hammer a nail in a tree's trunk,, will it hurt the tree??

If the nail is made of copper or contains copper it will eventually kill the tree. It can take years, but it's an old method to cheaply clear land when you're in no hurry. If i hammer a nail in a tree's trunk,, will it hurt the tree??
not rlly because a trees skin is thick frm the outside unless u hammer the nail really deep then yes because they are living species an have cells as such...etc..etcIf i hammer a nail in a tree's trunk,, will it hurt the tree??
I grew up in the woods and have put more than my share of nails in trees. Never have I seen any adverse effects on any of them. In fact, most of those trees are still alive right to this day.
Why would you want to hammer a nail into a tree?
That depends on what the nail is made of and the size of the tree.

NORMALLY, no; but if you remove the nail, you should close the hole with a wooden plug to keep insects out in most cases.
not much

trees got thick skins
