I have that normal emery board - the pink is the roughest surface, then white and the gray which shines the nails. I'm wondering whether the shine/glossy looking nails come naturally as a reaction of the ';gray'; part ';cleaning'; the nails surfaces or, did it come from a chemical on the ';gray'; part which transfered and coating the nails. Thank you.Nails filing: How did it shine?
I don't think there are any chemicals in that part of an emery board - I think it just very gently buffs away the surface of the nail to give it a nice sheen and polish and it brings out the natural oils in your nails which gives it that glow. You shouldn't buff too often though, as it can make the nails a little weak.
