I have tried everything at home, every top-coat, clear coat etc. on my nails, and yet I never can achieve that same pretty shine and perfection that I get if I get my nails done professionally. And I don't have arcrylic nails or anything, just my regular nails. What can I do to get the pro look at home? Thanks! Why is it when you get a professional manicure your nails are sooo shiny?
It's probably a combination of technique as well as product. But I'd suggest you ask your manicurist what products (base coat, shade and top coat) she's been using for you!
Also, buy a ';buffing'; tool. You can find them at any beauty supply shop... even some drugstores. They're amazing, and will give your nails a SUPER high shine with no polish whatsoever!
I would also recommend Sally Hansen (as the poster above suggested). I use the ';MEGA SHINE'; Extended Wear Top Coat (silver bottle). It's an amazing product, gives super-shine, dries quick and lasts for days!
Good Luck! Why is it when you get a professional manicure your nails are sooo shiny?
I think they use some kind of stuff that powder, I think.
because they use all those different lotions and everything. and actually i'm not sure. it's like they do voodoo so you keep coming back. those asians.
they might look really shiny if they get you to use the ultra violet topcoat and then let your nails dry under an ultra violet light. i dont know if that makes it shinier, but it makes it last longer because it hardens the polish.
i use sally hansen topcoat and its really shiny. maybe try putting on 2 coats?
One thing that is important is to polish the nail, which needs to be free of polish, etc when you do it. This brings out the natural shine. There are utensils at the nail aisle that will polish the nail into a lovely shine.
Also, a visit to your local beauty supply store, and asking questions as to products available will allow you to purchase the same things the manicurist uses in her salon. A sale is a sale and they will be glad to help you.
Because they are PROFESSIONALS, they do that for a living. Next time you're there ask them what they are using on your nails, then maybe you can buy it.

Nails filing: How did it shine?
I have that normal emery board - the pink is the roughest surface, then white and the gray which shines the nails. I'm wondering whether the shine/glossy looking nails come naturally as a reaction of the ';gray'; part ';cleaning'; the nails surfaces or, did it come from a chemical on the ';gray'; part which transfered and coating the nails. Thank you.Nails filing: How did it shine?
I don't think there are any chemicals in that part of an emery board - I think it just very gently buffs away the surface of the nail to give it a nice sheen and polish and it brings out the natural oils in your nails which gives it that glow. You shouldn't buff too often though, as it can make the nails a little weak.

Is it true that if you bite your nails then spit them in the garden it brings good health?
any1 heard this before? Is it true that if you bite your nails then spit them in the garden it brings good health?
No, I haven't heard it before...and no, it will have zero affect on your overall health (but you will have jagged, unkept looking fingernails). Is it true that if you bite your nails then spit them in the garden it brings good health?
Biting your nails is generally bad for your nails and cuticles. Other than that, I don't think that practice will have any effect on your health at all. However, it will probably gross out anybody who sees you doing it, so it may not be good for your social life.
I used to do it thinking I'd be healthier for it but all I ended up with was a huge nail tree in my garden. No chainsaw will even scrape the surface of that bark.
i heard that walking in a circle while staring in the middle for about 8 hours a day will help both your garden and your sanity!
Nope but I do know that, scratching your bottom and biting your finger nails can give you worms.
Sure, and if you drink your own pee it is healthy too. Gandhi did it.
Wanna buy some swamp land in Florida.
Never heard of it. And no, it's not true.
Are things like that ever true? Of course not. The only thing it will give you is ugly nails...
What? No. Of course not. It's just weird and a bad habit.

Does anyone have a schanauzer and does it have a loose toe that looks kike just a nail that is torne off?
it is the due claw...most are born with them....for grooming reasons sch. breeders should remove them while the pup is real young....some breeds like great pryanese have a double due claws they have two on each foot...and the breed calls for them so most breeders do not remove them....Does anyone have a schanauzer and does it have a loose toe that looks kike just a nail that is torne off?
It is a dewclaw. If your dog is still a puppy and still needs to be neutered, I'd recommend having them removed when you have that done. Only because the dewclaw can get caught on things and cause damage. Other than that, there isn't anything wrong with them. I have a lab/rott mix. I didn't know what they were either and once I found out he was older and they weren't causing problems so I just left them alone.

There is a nail in my tire. should i pull it out? I'm afraid it will go flat...?
Take it to a gas station or a tire shop, they can pull the nail out and put in a plug, with a small nail puncture that's all that is needed, some places wont even charge you for it. If you pull the nail out you will have a slow leak, the wheel has to come off, the leak found again and fixed, it will cost you more. There is a nail in my tire. should i pull it out? I'm afraid it will go flat...?
leave it in and refill tire as needed for now..until u get where ur going. it is not recommended, but once home..u can put a plug in to it from your local parts store. it is highly recommended to talk to a tire shop and have then install a full patch in side the tire. ok. but the nail will u get there with out a full flat for now..PS. reduce your speed in the process. There is a nail in my tire. should i pull it out? Leave it in there, till you to the tire shop.
The second you pill it out, the air will rush out.
===
With the nail, the air will only leak out SLOWLY (or not at all). But you should fix it, because it can develop and slow leak later.
Good Luck...
depending on how deep the nail went thru your tire, you are not suppose to touch it. best thing to do is to bring your car to car shop so that the technician will decide if he will take the nail or not
If you pull it out I guarantee it will go flat. Take it to a tire shop and they will plug it without even taking the tire off the car.
leave it where it is..inffact forget about it unless its near the side wall.....watch it over a few days if it doesnt go down or loose preasure forget about it...
It will go flat. Go to your nearest tire shop or buy a plug kit %26amp; plug it yerself.
well dont pull it drive it to a shop and have it fix smarter
don't pull it out, man.

Should Democrats Stop Trying to Nail the G.O.P. and Just Let It R.I.P?
I mean they're dead already. Why beat a dead horse?Should Democrats Stop Trying to Nail the G.O.P. and Just Let It R.I.P?
Because they're not dead already. They're still quite alive and well and planing a comeback. When they disband the party, they'll be dead.Should Democrats Stop Trying to Nail the G.O.P. and Just Let It R.I.P?
For all intents and purposes, my dinosaur buddy up there is correct.
The Democrats were written off for dead when they lost Congress in the early 90's. Yet here we are.
And Republicans have been attacking from the grave, to continue the metaphor. They have repeatedly brought attacks against the Democrats and Obama in particular, some true but most not. Regardless, whether the attack is true or not, it will gain hold if not fought against.
Democrats want to keep power, so they fight against...
Ok when are the parties going to stop trying to put each other down and start representing the people they are suppose to represent.
Our country is not like a team sport game where one side wins and then gets a big trophy or bragging rights, Or maybe it is and the citizens are just suppose to sit on the sidelines and cheer. Ya Rh for my side!
If the lobbyist are the ones running the politicians then the citizen is lost . Democracy is dead and we are all slaves to the government.
Guess in 2010, pre term elections will tell. Until then, I would not say R.I.P. By then , some one will be needed to step up and save the country, as it is right now, the drain is open and we are going down at a very high speed.
We are growing stronger every day your messiah is in office....we WILL take back the Congress in 2010

How Do I know if i have Nail fungus or if it is psoriasis of the nails?
I have looked this up on several websites and still dont have a straight answer. Please dont send links to random websites....
I have ridges in my nails.
The tips have way more white than normal and a cloudy and thick.
The skin around the nail is peeling.
The underneath seems to have hardly any feeling in it and i can peel skin off without it hurting.
It is on BOTH my Ring and Thumb fingers only which is a weird coincidence.
MY symptoms seem to describe both psoriasis and fungus.
I just wondered if anyone knew any ways to tell the difference.
I dont have insurance and cannot go to the doctor so thats why im on here asking.
thanks!!!!!!!How Do I know if i have Nail fungus or if it is psoriasis of the nails?
From the looks of it what you have is actually nail fungus. I'm not a doctor or anything but I used to have it in my toenails and what you are describing is exactly what I had. My doctor recommended this really expensive ointment but he said it would take months to work. So I looked for homemade remedies and that didn't work out either. This website really ended up helping me. They offer a lot of really good information and solutions that work in weeks.

What causes hang-nails and how do you cure it?
Bad nail filing or very dry skin can cause Hang nails to appear, also if you work with harsh chemicals. Best way to treat them is delicately! Put a good skin cream on the area. What causes hang-nails and how do you cure it?
i don't knowWhat causes hang-nails and how do you cure it?
When you cut your nails, be SURE to cut the edges on a slant! When you cut everything straight across, the edge is like a scissor.
with super glue
when u file nails go in one direction only not back and forward
cut it i guess?

We cut the finger nail of the dog and its bleeding what can we put it on it thanks?
Apply some flour or cornstarch and lot of pressure. You can also let him run around outside in the dirt, this will pack mud in there and stop the bleeding. I know those nails can bleed like crazy but don't worry, the toe nail is a long ways from the heart. We cut the finger nail of the dog and its bleeding what can we put it on it thanks?
ice and a styptic (for men's shaving cuts)We cut the finger nail of the dog and its bleeding what can we put it on it thanks?
put a small piece of cotton ball in the bleeding toenail, maybe soak it with peroxide first
what happened is you hit the quick of the dogs nail. it is no big deal just try to find some septic powder if you don't have any use flower and cornstarch just try to keep the dog out of the dirt for about an hour so it has time to seal itself before dirt gets in. it will prevent from infection! oh if it doesn't stop bleeding with in 40 minutes you need to take them in to the vet
you probally just broke a nerve on his nail but he should be fine

Is it ok or safe to cut my turtles nails?
I have a turtle and his nails are getting long, i was wondering if it is ok to cut a turtles nails? Is it ok or safe to cut my turtles nails?
i have tortoises and i trim their nails, the vets use clippers that you cut dogs nails with, if your turtles nails are too long the you can trim them back, on tortoises you can see the quick of the nail and i cut about a mm below this, if you cut the quick of the nail it will bleed, if you are not sure how to cut your turtles nails then take it to your vet and get them to show you how, this is what i did first of all, but most of the time i do not need to cut them, i have a concrete paving slab by the entrance of my tortoise hut so they walk over it to go to bed this seems to keep the nails at a nice level and i just trim them when they come out of hibernation, best of luck honey. Is it ok or safe to cut my turtles nails?
you didn't state if it was an aquatic turtle or not. But in most cases the answer would be no. I have several species of turtles ranging from aquatic to land. The aquatic turtles use there claws as part of there mating ritual and I made the mistake in trimming them and he never mated again and it's been 5 years and he was mating all the time. My vet informed that if I was concerned about the claws to put some rocks for them to climb on.and for my land turtles I use a large piece of granite or brink that is buried in the substrate so they can't dig under it. It allows them to walk across it and file there nails naturally. Hope this helps
I'm guessing that you have a slider or cooter and that it's a male. The long front claws are used during courtship or to demonstrate dominance. They are important secondary sexual characteristics to a male turtle. Let me put it this way, would you like to go to school wearing a padded bra and a miniskirt? If not, don't cut your turtle's nails.
i would think so but like any other animal i would take it to the vet or find a pet store and ask them to do it. it shouldnt cost to much and they wouldnt hurt the animal and they would know were they can and can't cut
do not cut its nails they need them for breeding purposes female turtles have short nails so you do not have them the male turtle needs them for other reasons but they are mainly used for mating

Is it a hassle to play volleyball with fake nails?
I want to get fake nails, but I play volleyball (2 practices; 3 hours a week) and I'm not sure if getting them is worth it. I'm only going to keep them for a short time, and my friend has done it before, but I am still unsure if I should do it or not.Is it a hassle to play volleyball with fake nails?
a hassel and definetly a PAIN if you break one off
OUCHIs it a hassle to play volleyball with fake nails?
Now-a-days although the nails are looking Real, I personally had them for a wedding and people kept asking too see my nails, and they couldn't even tell that they were fake, I told them that they were fake and they burst out screaming things like holy $hit. ETC. But, I too play sports and even if you get shorter nails, the glue on the nails is pretty crappy and once it drys they pop off pretty easy, and playing sports with them is a huge nuisance! I personally say only do it if its for a special night or whatever, and once the night is over go home and put a lot of nail polish remover on them (this kinda shrivels them and they just disappear.) But don't even try to play sports with them, I did and one broke off and took my real nail with it. They are a MAJOR pain, and REALLY hurt when they rip out due to whatever reason, and trying to make them look real you have to put it somewhat under the skin around your nail, and it hurts SO bad, and after you get them off they have somewhat stretched the skin, and your real nails have glue on them for weeks after, and although they look good with the fake nail on, the real nail looks horrid after!
no....
It definetly isn't worth it. I used to play and every practice me or other girs with fake nails would litterally break the entire nail off trying to dig a spike or set. It will mess you up very much.
don't get them when playing v-ball, just wait til' after the season
don't do it.
fake nails look bad anyways. they're not attractive, just fake looking.

I had an ingrown toe nail and I cut it. When I press green liquid comes out. What do I do?
So I had an ingrown toe nail and I cut it. So it would not press against my skin and it did not hurt anymore. Then it got infected on the left side of the nail. I have been treating it with peroxide, neosporin, water with salt and baking soda, and band aids. Then there was some pain on the right side and I cut a little bit just a little bit their. Then after a couple of days the infection from the left side and the was no more pain there and ent to the right side. Now my toe is swollen and I cant even touch the right side. I press pus comes out. I am treating it the same way and today I started talking antibiotics. I really don't want to get the toe cut open and get the pus removed. I heard that shots in the finger hurt a lot! What should I do?!I had an ingrown toe nail and I cut it. When I press green liquid comes out. What do I do?
Yo just go to a podiatrist, Im SERIOUS! it wont hurt, they numb the hell out of it and you'll be ok. You dont want to get gangreen and get it amputated. I had one for over a year and i would cut and it would grow back, I went to a foot doctor, he took care of it and I can actually run now!

i don't knowWhat causes hang-nails and how do you cure it?
When you cut your nails, be SURE to cut the edges on a slant! When you cut everything straight across, the edge is like a scissor.
with super glue
when u file nails go in one direction only not back and forward
cut it i guess?

It will mess you up very much.
don't get them when playing v-ball, just wait til' after the season
don't do it.
fake nails look bad anyways. they're not attractive, just fake looking.cover girl

Is it okay for a typist to have acrylic nails?
I am going for a job interview for a data entry position on Tuesday. However, my REAL nails are VERY short and pretty bad looking. I want to get very short acrylic french tip nails put on this afternoon. Is this okay as long as I can still type with them? Or should I just try to make my own look better?? Thank you!Is it okay for a typist to have acrylic nails?

Ladies, what is a nail filling? What does it do?
I have fake nails also known as acrylic tips. I know a filling is when they fill in the space where the nails grow, but does it make the nails strong again? dont they or shouldnt they be Re-glued back? lol Just my crazy theory. Is it easier to brake a nail like that? Does a filling make them look brand new again? can they cut them down after that? THANKS IN ADVANCE.Ladies, what is a nail filling? What does it do?
A fill in is required every two to three weeks to fill in the gap that has formed from your natural nail growing underneath. It does NOT do anything to strengthen your natural nail. You'll go through about the same process as when you got them done initially. They remove any polish, then file the acrylic down a bit as well as the natural nail that has grown out. Then they add acrylic to the top of your natural nail and carry through to the end of the acrylic nail. You can have them trimmed at this time. They finish up by polishing after a good buffing and file into shape again. Also, a much quicker visit than getting the full set. (they do not have a greater chance of breaking after a fill in). Hope that helps!Ladies, what is a nail filling? What does it do?
When you have acrylic or gel nails (fake nails) you need to get the gap between the cuticle and the (fake nails) filled. They would use the same type of material to fill the gap. It is better to have them filled then to have them done all over again.
Personally I can't wear either they ruin your natural nails no matter what you do.
Someone said filing them is bad... it really isn't as long as you do it properly..
Filing nails can shorten then and neaten them up, but you have fake nails so if you want them filed id reccommend going back to the nail shop where you got them odne and ask them to shorten them or neaten them up.
A filing just smooths out the edges and gets them into shape. I file my nails after cutting them.
it makes ur nails beatiful

If I buy a currently leased car and later sell it to my son, will we get nailed for double sales tax?
I am considering buying a leased car at the residual value, keeping it for 6-12 months, and then selling it to my son. I realize I will be responsible for the sales tax when I purchase it (since I've already only paid sales tax on the depreciation). However, when I sell it to my son, will he then also be responsible for sales tax? Seems to me the state already collected the tax on the full value of the car when I bought it. Isn't this double taxation. BTW, I live in NJ.If I buy a currently leased car and later sell it to my son, will we get nailed for double sales tax?
No, just submit a Statement of facts, when you got to transfer the vehicle, to the effect that the car is passing to a family member, therefore making it a tax exempt transaction. If I buy a currently leased car and later sell it to my son, will we get nailed for double sales tax?
Everytime you transfer the car, you have to pay sales tax. If it's transferred 50 times, you have to pay 50 times.
But you can always gift the car and pay $0 tax.... everyone gets $1M lifetime gift exemption.
Yes, unfortunately most lease companies will only allow you to buy the car, not a family member, so there will be double tax. But, i suggest going to the dealer, having them buy it, and resell to your son. We do it all the time, arrange the financing and it works out great. That way, when they buy it, they don't pay tax, so only your son willl.
Check with your DMV. Many States allow the transfer of a vehicle, within the immediate family, to be a gift. This applies even if he is actually paying you for the vehicle.(not that I would mention that fact) States make big bucks on the sale of autos by getting taxes each time they are sold.
you can simply put it as a ';gift'; on the title, and then charge him whatever you were going to. The DMV most likely wont question it because you are father and son. You dont HAVE to put the correct selling price on the title for a private sale, they have no way of really checking it. And no, it isnt considered double taxation, because they are two seperate sales. Same reason a dealership can charge tax on selling used cars.... the ';double taxation'; doesnt apply to tax on the same vehicle more than once, rather, you cant tax twice on the same sale or income.
For instance, if I have money that I put in a savings account, that money would be taxed from my income. but they will still tax any interest I make on it. But when I die and my kids inherit it, that cant be taxed, because it already was. But then they made ';inheritance tax';.... so now they can, because it is a different KIND of tax. boo on you, tax man!
If ownership changes hands, then yes, he'll have to pay sales tax. The easiest way to (sorta) get around it is to have the sale paperwork (from you to your son) say you sold it for $1, or something low (check to see if there's a limit in your state). They base sales tax on the amount it sold for, not the estimated worth.
It may be multiple taxation but, I think every time there is a title transfer, sales tax is applied. Call your local DMV to be sure.

I have a nail in my tire, I can only see the head of the nail. Should I leave it be or get it repaired?
I know a place that will repair it for 10 bucks flat. However, I have a car that will let me know if the air gets low. Also, it is wedged in there completely to the point where I don't see how they would get the nail out? Should I just leave it?
Lastly, I don't recall ever going on a joy ride with a bag of nails and dropping them all over the street. How the heck do nails end up in the road?I have a nail in my tire, I can only see the head of the nail. Should I leave it be or get it repaired?
If you had gone on a joyride with a bag of nails, it would be the guy behind you that has a flat. LOL
Most nails in tires are flush. You just take a needle-nosed pliers, open it a little ways, and push in on each side of the nail. The rubber gives, and you grab the nail.
Which brings me to my next suggestion. Buy a tire plugging kit (including tools) for $8-$10, and you can fix a dozen flats. Heck, fix your neighbors flat, and CHARGE THEM $10! :-)I have a nail in my tire, I can only see the head of the nail. Should I leave it be or get it repaired?
As far as how do nails end up in the road, your jaw would drop if you saw some of the many objects we've pulled out of tires at my dealership. As far as fixing it, Yes fix it soon. It could start leaking anytime. Do you want to have to sit in a grocery store parking lot waiting for AAA to come change your tire, or better yet, do you want to put on your spare yourself in the same situation, if you don't have Roadside Assistance?
The tire place/mechanic will have the tools to get the nail out regardless of how deep it is in, if they can't pull it, they will dismount the tire from the rim and push it out.
Dont leave it, for ten dollars the risk to your saftey and the saftey of others isn't worth it.
Just get it fixed. Otherwise it's going to leak slowly and it may go flat while you are sleeping. And they get it out cause they take the tire off and wow--they can see INSIDE the tire. They can take the nail out, patch it and you will be ok. Nails aren't just in the road, they are in parking lots and the like. Stuff like that happens.Unless it's in the sidewall, just get it fixed.
You may have passed by a post construction site if not in place where construction is going on.
To remove the nails may cause your tire to deflate more, If it does not change the tire gauge condition leave it for a while until you have time to have it repaired, but once you notice any sign of deflation have it fixed for your safety.
You should definitely take it to a shop. Oh and nails can pretty much get on the road by..well i guess people sometimes drop nails by the road. that would be the most common reason i guess.
P.S oh and don't leave it in there just in case air starts to leak. It would be better to just have a shop look at it.
It's better if you get it repaired, but DO NOT remove the nail if you do! If you take out the nail, they won't know where the hole is to fix it. Leave the nail in, take it to the shop, and they'll pull out the nail and plug the hole.
let the repair facility take the nail out when they repair the tire, other than that if you pull it out you will be changing a flat tire.
leave it in and drive to the tire shop and get it fixed. It will probably give you an annoying slow leak if you don't.
You leave it be!
Take it and get it repaired.
dude just fix it,better than having to replace it later
fix it now or ruin your rims later
If you leave the nail in it WILL start leaking if it hasn't already. You should take it to the shop you mentioned and get it fixed ASAP or you can plug it your self. You can get a plugging kit at Wal-mart for about the $10 the shop will charge you and still be able to plug about 4 more tires with what is left over. You can either take the tire off the car or leave it on but do it where you have access to an air supply. Pulling the nail out is easy all you need is a pair of pliars and maybe a screw driver. When you pull the nail out the air will then start coming out fast. The kit has instructions on how to plug the tire. I used up my first kit a long time ago so I got a package of 25 plugs and a can of glue at Wal-mart and have used up about half of those in the past few years. Think of the money I saved plugging my own tires. Good luck.

Good luck.
Is it normal to have a fettish for ginger pale girls, who are chubby, and have black nail varnish on.?
have sweaty feet, and wear high heeled platforms? im hoping when i find a girl friend i find these physicall preferences. otherwise i dont want anyone else..i.e blonde with a tan..slim. black hair, slim, with a tan, im not remotley interested. Is it normal to have a fettish for ginger pale girls, who are chubby, and have black nail varnish on.?
Is it normal?
Yes - for you it is. Your preference is unique and acceptable as long as it hurts no one and you are happy with what you desire. The likelyhood of finding someone who fits the exact description of your preference, however, may be a long shot though. Is it normal to have a fettish for ginger pale girls, who are chubby, and have black nail varnish on.?
perfectly, - everyone needs someone they can relate to.
Nicola Roberts from Girls Aloud after a few pies.
Nuff said.
Well, if it was considered 'normal' in our culture you would not be calling it a fetish! :)
However, if this is the 'type' of girl you find most attractive, then that is fine. Certainly you have heard the cliche ';there is someone for everyone';?
Perfectly normal.It's what you like.
then you want a cheap tart ?
lmao. thats cool!! x
wow i thought i was the only one like that, u go bro,
Answer: Yes, Perfectly Normal.
[ Don't worry about it, just keep taking the tablets. ]
Sash.
WTF.... LMFAO
The only thing NORMAL in this corrupt world we live in today is difference. So....do you! and I think that Rod S has the best answer. I would say sumpm like that myself.
Haha... well everyone has fetishes right? even if they dont claim too. SO im gonna go with yes, its prefectly normal
well i think if you do find one you wont have much competition. she will be all yours.
How will you know she has sweaty feet???
No fetish is normal. If it was it wouldn't be a fetish.
You forgot the wellington boots!
No but whatever floats your boat. Everyones different........ for example. Most guys dont like the red haired girl from Girls Aloud but I think shes a fox.
I think that's a bit weird. Unless the nail varnish on the fourth finger of the left hand was red instead of black (all the others can be black) and she plays a mean trombone. In that case you would be perfectly normal, like me.
you would be better off being gay!
Of course it is.We all like different people in different ways,it is nothing to be a shamed of. Just remember to be yourself at all times and i mean always but don't be dissapointed if you don't find a girl with all those fetures you have to except who they are.

Smashed my thumb. Nail is Black. Will it fall off?
Smashed it while closing the balcony door. It happened yesterday, and it's black just alittle. Thumb is swollen too. I reaaaallly don't want my nail to fall off but know when this happens.. it usually does. AHHH! lol.
But my friends say it doesn't look so bad. The black is just alittle point. Anything special I should do to treat it? Go to doctor? Or just let it heal on it's own?Smashed my thumb. Nail is Black. Will it fall off?
I went through this last year. By tomorrow it will probably look a bit worse, and eventually you may lose the nail. The nail won't come off until the new one has begun growing in under it though. All they will do at a the doctor's is drain the trapped blood under the nail with a needle(The black spot is the trapped blood). This is both very painful and unnecessary. It will stop hurting and heal on its own if you give it some time.Smashed my thumb. Nail is Black. Will it fall off?
Your nail should be fine. I doubt it will fall off it is only a little black. There is nothing special to do but if it get red and swollen as in infected then go see your doc
it will fall off
it will heal on its own, and there's nothing you can really do about it. if its just a little black then it will possibly just grow out and not fall off, cause it could just be a black and blue under the nail. but if its more then half the nail it will probably fall off. but dont worry it will grow back.
its probly gonna fall off
it will grow back though
it will probly heal on its own
won't hurt to have a healthcare person look at it. Sounds like it will heal fine, but if it's painful you should see someone. Remember it's not an emergency so make an appointment with a doctor or healthcare clinic. Don't go to the ER.
most likely will soz, this happend 2 me wen i was younger, i jammed al my fingers and nearly evryone of my nails fell off apart from a couple, it was sore!!!
if it's black all the way back up at the base, yes. but it will grow back eventually.
what do you mean just a little point? If it's just like a small blood blister in the quick it will just grow out. For the nail fall off their needs to be scab underneath like all the way across.
To treat it, when you first slam it, drill or poke a small hole with a hot needle in the top to relieve the pressure, too late for that now though.
its just a smashed fingernail, if its ';dead'; (black, to you) a new nail will push the old one off, and a new one will start to immedtialy grow. there's nothing to worry about. your thumb will be gross a little bit, but whatever. don't cover it up with a bandaid, it'll take longer for the skin to heal. it needs fresh air, and wash your hands alot. keep the area clean.
It will fall off. The same thing happened to me. The good thing about being a girl is, when the nail falls off you can put fingernail polish on the skin underneath. No one will know the difference.
its just a broose it will get better in a couple o days

Sometimes my horoscope just nails it, How??
It actually makes me %26amp; my wife wonder about the accuracySometimes my horoscope just nails it, How??
By giving vague BS answers. I can give you an example if you like. Before I do, also know that if you read your horoscope everyday and believe it is true, you will adapt your day to make the horoscope come true.
Your BS horoscope.
Your gentle and kind personality will have a conflict today. Make sure you immediately resolve this conflict with the person. Tonight watch the stars and then a good night sleep. You will meet someone tomorrow.
This could apply to anyone. It would be the same thing if I told you that within the next three days you will probably breathe, sleep, eat, blink, and talk. You might even go to the bathroom.
This answer is not a slam on you but on the scam of horoscopes.Sometimes my horoscope just nails it, How??
Horoscopes are random, but I know what you mean. I'll check my horoscope at the end of the day just for the fun of it, and it will describe exactly how my day is. I don't get it, but I've stopped reading it because it's began to completely weird me out.
your horoscope like all the others has something in it that EVERYONE can relate to.
i wouldn't put to much faith in it. its about as general as possible. but i'll tell you what when it mentions your name and the place and the time and exact etc etc. then i'd put faith in it. use it for fun-but don't make decisions off of it-you'll regret it.
';Sometimes'; means nothing. Does it tell you in advance ';today this one's for real';?
Yeah, my mom could asnwer this better than i can but it's really weird how our personalities and minds are somehow attatched to the moon and sun, isn't it? i'm really into astrology and i DEFINITELY believe in it, no question. My horoscopes are almost always correct. it's really weird to me also! it can get really technical with the planets and moon and things, and people spend their lives making the connection between people and our galaxy.
Horoscopes are generally vague in their descriptions and forecasts, and since you want to believe it, it may seem accurate.
It's random. They throw out all these general statements. If you beleive your mind will try to make it fit. If you don't well there's not much they could do to make you. :) Like they could say ';you will experience some difficult times today in regards to your relationship.'; If you beleive...even if your not in a relationship, you'll go ';oh they mean with my family/friends.'; If you don't beleive you'll laugh or shrug it off. They are playing the odds. millions upon millions of people could be born within that time frame. I imagine at one point or another it is going to match someone. It's a ';shotgun'; meathod. They're statements are so general they are bound to be true for someone.
that's because horiscopes are very general so anyone can pick something from their prediction and relate to it
They use statements that are true in everyday life, so they don't seem like they are lies. like ';an old friend will contact you today'; it could be your boss who doesn't ever talk to you, or a friend next door...really just general statements
Even a broken clock is right 2 times a day
Check this out - it'll help clarify things for you.

They make statements that could be true for a lot of people. They're very general.
Horoscopes in daily venues are generally very vague, and only a good ammount actually use astrology to make their predictions.
what happens is there is an assumption that the cusp of your first House is right on the cusp of your sun sign. in which case if the majority of your horoscopes are wrong or slightly innacurate then you probably have a different Ascendent (cusp of the first house).
they do this to generalize it for the masses, you can go to http://www.astro.com for a more personalized horoscope (Uses Transits) or you can get an astrologer to look at your ';Transits';. in which they take your entire birth chart into consideration and see how the current position of the planets are interacting with it.
and remember nothing is in absolutes it can only show you what you are more likely to be thinking doing or feeling. like fleeting moods, fleeting thoughts, streaks of ambition or iritability .. etc.. they usualy wont say ';you will run into a 100$ bill on the sidewalk';cover girl

Why are nails hard even though it is composed of dead cells?
is it because of keratin? Can there be a nail disease? Why are nails hard even though it is composed of dead cells?
Nails are a type of modified skin. Nails protect the sensitive tips of fingers and toes.Fingernails are made up of a hardened protein called keratin, which is also found in skin and hair.Keratins are a family of fibrous structural proteins; tough and insoluble, they form the hard but nonmineralized structures. They are rivaled in biological toughness only by chitin.
The amino acids which combine to form keratin have several unique properties, and depending on the levels of the various amino acids, keratin can be inflexible and hard, like hooves, or soft, as is the case with skin. Most of the keratin that people interact with is actually dead; hair, skin, and nails are all formed from dead cells which the body sheds as new cells push up from underneath. If the dead cells are kept in good condition, they will serve as an insulating layer to protect the delicate new keratin below them.
Keratin is difficult to dissolve, because it contains cysteine disulfide, which means that it is able to form disulfide bridges. These disulfide bridges create a helix shape that is extremely strong, as sulfur atoms bond to each other from across the helix, creating a fibrous matrix which is not readily soluble. Depending on how much cysteine disulfide keratin contains, the bond can be extremely strong to make hard cells like those found in hooves, or it can be softer to make flexible keratin like hair and skin. Because of the high levels of sulfur in keratin, when it is burned it emits a distinct sulfurous odor which some people find distasteful.
Keratin is formed by keratinocytes, living cells which make up a large part of skin, hair, nails, and other keratin containing parts of the body. The cells slowly push their way upwards, eventually dying and forming a protective layer of cells. Thousands of these cells are shed every day, and the process can be accelerated by various medical conditions, such as psoriasis. Damage to the external layer of keratin can cause skin, hair, and nails to look unhealthy or flaky.
Hair and nails on humans especially tend to become dry and brittle, because the dead keratin is being pushed to great lengths. By eating foods like gelatin and keeping hair and nails moist, they can be grown out while still remaining healthy. In general, the thicker the layer of keratin, the healthier the hair or nail is, because the dead cells outside protect the living cells at the core. Keeping the external layer of keratin moisturized will also keep it healthy and prevent cracking and splitting, whether the keratin is forming the hooves of a horse of the skin of a human.
Although nails are a skin appendage, they have their own signs and symptoms which may relate to other medical conditions. Nail conditions that show signs of infection or inflammation require medical assistance and cannot be treated at a beauty parlor. Deformity or disease of the nails may be referred to as onychosis.
Onychia,Onychocryptosis,Onychodystroph鈥? ,Onychogryposis,Onycholysis, Onychomadesis ,Onychomycosis,Subungual hematoma , Koilonychia, etc are some of the diseases of human nails. Why are nails hard even though it is composed of dead cells?
Whaa? Dead cells? Not! Protein? yes. keratin? yes.
Nail disease would indicate a problem either with the keratin producing cells or with disease under the nail. Either could affect the nail itself, but the most likely cause of growth problems of the nail are with the cells that grow them. duh.

When i use creative sticky it holds my polish but turns my nails yellow. does anyone have advice to solve this?
I have found that sticky works the best for me. I like to paint my nails either with a clear or I do french. Very seldom do i use color. I cannot figure out why my nails turn yellow if I am not using color. When i use creative sticky it holds my polish but turns my nails yellow. does anyone have advice to solve this?
Hmm are you sure it's the polish? It could be your diet that's causing your nails to turn yellow. Try buffing your nail lightly and see if it goes away. If it does, then it's the polish.
If it IS the polish, I'd try using a UV resistant topcoat. UV rays from the sun sometimes tend to yellow the polish, and that might be staining your nail.
If the yellow isn't going away after buffing, it's your diet. Maybe you're lacking vitamins or calcium? If you're really worried, I'd see a doctor ;)

Can you tell me why it is necessary to nail?
a coffin shut? Can you tell me why it is necessary to nail?
Most coffins are sealed with screws, some not at all. Depends on the type of the casket seal, if any, is there. I'm going to be polite by just saying that it keeps the lid where it is supposed to stay when activity builds up inside. Can you tell me why it is necessary to nail?
I don't think that happens anymore. That's when they were all made out of wood , and the moisture of the soil would cause them to come open.
so the body doesn't fly out during transport. or perhaps so wayward dogs can't eat a fresh corpse
whoa...that gave me the creeps to think about...
but it's to keep people OUT, not in...but still...kinda creepy...
i never knew they did maybe it would be harder for someone to get in if they decided to dig it up

NO ITS NOT ITS FASHION TREND...THATS STUPID...
Black nail varnish used to be quite a gothic fashion trend...but it is very fashionable these days..for anyone that would like too wear it...x i suppose
it's not satanic..lol...that girl has no sense of fashion..
i mean gothic kids wear it but i don't think it's satanic if you wear it the right way. i mean maybe if you're gothic it would be satanic.
No, its just a f-ing color. I dont know why people make such a big deal about black nailpolish. Black is a color thats every where, and just because its dark doesnt mean that its all evil and emo and what not.
no it isnt it's very in style

If you get cut or srapped by a rusty nail and you put rubbing acohol on it does it not get infected?
Putting alcohol on an open cut or scratch will burn like hell, I would suggest just washing gently with warm soapy water, pat dry and depending on where its located then u might need to put a bandage on it to keep dirt out. Now - u will need to go to Dr's and get a shot, tetnus shot-- so that u dont get anything from it, u will need one of these if u havent gotten one in the last 3-4 yrs... So check on it with ur parents or guardian. If it gets bubbly, puss green ooze then it is getting infected, also look for red lines around the area, that is serious if u see that-- blood posioning is very bad, get checked immediately if u see it... Good luckIf you get cut or srapped by a rusty nail and you put rubbing acohol on it does it not get infected?
There is no doubt that it helps it avoid getting infected however you need to go to your local doctor and get a tetnis shot asap...
BronIf you get cut or srapped by a rusty nail and you put rubbing acohol on it does it not get infected?
If you don't have a current tetnus shot you will need to get one as you could get lock jaw from this.
Get a tetanus jab quickly!
be sure to get a tetanus shot

Thats gross dude.I have a scar on nose from when i tried to rip out a zit a while ago with my nails. any way to cure it?
never try to rip anything from your face...unless it's eyebrows or a mustache. just don't pick at it and wash your face when you get a chance. it should be okay in a little while
When you have zits on your face don't pick.A cheap way to clears up zits just put some toothpaste on them at night and wash off in the mornings.Your scar should fade in time.
Try using Bio Oil, it is sold at most drugstores. It works wonders with scars.

Helppp! Ripped my nail, really dont want it to get infected!?
I have overlay instead of tips just to make my nails stronger.. Caught my pinky a few times and its lifted half my nail off. Ive cut most of it away so now im left with half a nail! Woke up this morning and its really red and a tiny bit swolen. Hate infections, im a real worrier! Has this happened to anyone else? What should i do with it? Theres no yellowness or pus jus feels like its aching...? Helppp! Ripped my nail, really dont want it to get infected!?
alcohol will ZAP away any infection, dunk it a few times a day! it will heal it very quicklyHelppp! Ripped my nail, really dont want it to get infected!?
I would put peroxide or alcohol on it or something. It will burn but it will get the infection out. Put some hand sanitizer on it, then put a band aid on it. That might help keep the infection out. If you do this, please remember I am not a doctor, just a teenager.
Ahhh i ripped the skin next to my thumb nail this morning, and put some TeaTree Oil on it to kill the germs. So some TeaTree Oil, and a bandage should do it.
Get Beter Soon~ xox
i once had a similar accident while helping make a camp. what i did was to wash it in hydrogen peroxide (real painful though). then i used a gauze pad to bandage it.
see your doc just happened to me it got infected they gave me a hypodermicc needle and some antibiotics told me to pop the puss bag and milk the puss out its a mess now
Clean it, wash your hands when exposed to germs too long, bandage that sucker up, and be happy you have a hand.. Unlike some solders out there fighting for US!
Stick your finger in a jigger of vodka, then drank it. It should kill the infection and will ease the pain.
i would wrap it in a bandade to prevent you bumping it and it bleeding again. it will get better

My dog's nail got torn...keep it wrapped?
My dog tore his nail a few days ago. I always keep them short, but somehow he must have snagged it and tore it. It is ripped about half way down, the quick is exposed. When I noticed it, it was bleeding. I cleaned it and it stopped. Then I noticed that there was a lot of dirt (from going potty outside) and fuzz attached to it, so I started cleaning (peroxide) and wrapping it every day. He's been wrapped for a couple days now. I've tried to limit his activity. I took off the wrap to clean it and it's not bleeding ot anything, but has a dark color to it. When I put the wrap on yesterday, it was clean and normal nail color. I left the wrap off now and he's been licking it. Should I let him? Should I wrap it again? Will the rest of the nail die? I know it has to be kept clean, but will cleaning it too much do something to the nerve? Do I just leave it? My dogs have snagged their nails before, but they just grew back with no problems. I don't want to hurt him by touching it if I shouldn't. He listens very well and does what I tell him even if it hurts, and I know cleaning it hurts him. I feel bad.My dog's nail got torn...keep it wrapped?
If the quick is exposed, that's very painful for the dog. It can also get Infected very easily. You need to get your poor dog to the vet, and they might have to remove the nail!My dog's nail got torn...keep it wrapped?
I would not keep it wrapped. Unless you've been trained to properly wrap a limb it's VERY easy to cut off the circulation.
Yes, keep it clean but do so by soaking it in warm soapy water then rinsing it well.
Peroxide is not a disinfectant %26amp; can actually inhibit healing.
If it was my dog, I'd take him to the vet so they can trim off the torn area %26amp; possibly start him on an antibiotic.
its probably best to take him to the vet to have the nail removed. if it is still attached , he runs the risk of tearing it again causing him pain and unnecessary bleeding.
your probs referring to the dew claw, this will cause massive pain to your dog and are usually taken off when they are young to avoid this from happening, you should see a vet asap so your dog is not hurting
It's good that you were able to stop the bleeding. Once one cuts into the quick, it can be relatively difficult to stop the bleeding.
I would simply place a sock over the clean paw/wrapped foot to keep him from chewing it, and to keep the paw clean while he is scampering about outside.
If things look normal, and nothing is on his paw, yet, he is still licking at it, bothering it, etc, there's a possibility that it could be painful. I would get in to see your vet, and get it looked at. I work at an emergency clinic for pets, and in some cases the nail must be manipulated or removed. They can also give him some pain medication and/or antibiotics as needed.cover girl

Stepped on a nail through foot, is it considered an emergency to get a tetanus shot?
the question is regarding insurance, is it technically considered an emergency if a child steps on a nail and needs a tetanus shot? would her medicaid cover it as an emergency? ER visit out of pocket is always $500 plusStepped on a nail through foot, is it considered an emergency to get a tetanus shot?
A child usually has already had tetanus shots as part of childhood immunizations. do you have the records? also. could go to a walk in/urgent care clinic or community health clinic. Call pediatrician or call hosp nurse advice line. $500. is quite a bit for an ER visit, even if just needs an injection. not an emergency, but should soak foot, watch for signs of infections, redness/pain/swelling, not standing on foot, fever. How deep is the puncture wound, If all the way through, needs to be seen. go to urgent care.Stepped on a nail through foot, is it considered an emergency to get a tetanus shot?
i wouldn't be too concerned. if she has had a tetanus shot, she should be protected until her next scheduled one. (not exactly sure what age that is?) just be sure to monitor the wound and keep it clean and make sure she isn't overusing her feet so the wound has a chance to heal. if you sense that there is any sign of infection i would bring her to a doctor. i personally don't think a trip to the ER is necessary.
This is not an Emergency Room visit situation. Make an appointment with your doctor and take care of it then. Been there and done that.
if he hasn't had a tetanus shot in the last 10 years. just make an appointment with his doctor tomorrow, it will be a lot cheaper.
well it depends on a lot of things but i would deff. get a shot if u havnt had one for the last ten years and even if u had i would just in case
Yes, since without Tetnanus shot she could die.
If it was rusted go to th EM now! If not make a doctors appointment.

She has a broken nail right by her paw? You mean she has a broken nail, did you cut it or did it just break? Did it bleed? If it bleeds apply some baking soda to it, it will absorb it. Since dogs don't walk directly on their nails, unless really long, the pain would have been right away and for a little bit.
yes she is because it has nerves in them and it was broken from a point in were the nerve is so clean it dry it put oitment on it and wrap it and do this every day or eles it can get enfected and kill her....
Break one of your nails and see how it feels.
She is suffering horribly. Put her to sleep you inhumane bastard.
No, of course not! Unless it's bleeding, the animal isn't feeling anything, do you feel anything when you break a nail?
You can do nothing at home but keep it bandaged until you get her to a vet. They will probably remove the nail, give you some anti-imflammatory meds and possibly some antibiotics
It depends on if it is bleeding and you can’t stop the bleeding. It also depends how close into the toe of the paw it is broken and if it has affected the tendon. It is best if you get it to the veterinary so that a “realistic” evaluation can be made.
has she been to the vet's?
a bandage or a bootie can help protect it, but it needs to be CLEANED %26amp; disinfected 1st.
It could get very painful. My best advice would be to go to the vet if she shows sign of pain like limping. If she seems happy and is running around fine u should just keep monitering it.
it was painful for me so yes
Honestly, yes. Just like if you broke your own toenail, there is no fix. Just treat her extra nice for a few days, it will get better. If she seems to be in alot of pain, take her to the vet, so she can be given something for the pain. BTW, do NOT under ANY circumstances, give her tylenol. Hope this helps!
If she cries or cant walk on it than go get it checked on because it might be infected if its broken to far.

My dog's nail split and now it's worse...What can be the cause?
My pup's nail split/pulled all the way into her toe when she was running in the door from outside on Thursday. She was bleeding a lot and so I took her to the vet and he said it looks okay and she will probably have a new nail grow in. Well yesterday she was favoring her paw a little bit, but it wasn't really swollen. Where the pink is in the white nail, is now almost black. Today, her paw keeps getting more and more swollen... particularly that toe. The pad in the bottom of the toe is particularly hard. She can't put any pressure on it... not even to set it down while she is laying. She is able to eat... doesn't seem in too much pain when the paw is suspended in the air, but it seems to be getting more swollen. The nail is lose. Could this be an infection? Maybe she broke her toe? Is this normal for a nail that's about to fall off? Thanks! My dog's nail split and now it's worse...What can be the cause?
Your best bet is to take the dog back to the vet, it could be infected.
Nails can break and splinter when over grown dry and they become brittle and break. My dog's nail split and now it's worse...What can be the cause?
Have your vet look at it tomorrow. Yes, it's normal for a nail to fall off. Without being able to see it, it's hard for us to tell what the problem is.
Call your vet back and tell them of the changes (swelling, color change, limping). Your dog may have an infection that needs antibiotics.

How much is it to clip a dogs nails at petco or petsmart for a large dog?
$8.00How much is it to clip a dogs nails at petco or petsmart for a large dog?
Should not be over $10.00 if so call your Vet for clipping. How much is it to clip a dogs nails at petco or petsmart for a large dog?
I think I paid 10 at petsmart for them to do my mini dachshunds nails with a dremel tool. I believe it was $2 cheaper if they just clipped them with clippers.
Buy a pair of clippers from Petco and have your vet show you how to do it. You can also get a ';dremel'; which is what my breeder recommended. This will polish the nail down to size rather than cut/shatter the nail.
Petsmart:
Nail trim - $8.00
Nail trim and ear cleaning (Nail %26amp; Care Pkg) - $12.00
$8 at Petsmart, don't know about Petco.
Mr groomer does it for free when we get his anti-shedding treatment done. I use the Ban-field groomer at Petsmart.
Or, next time you visit the vet, ask them about clipping his/her nails. They know that it can be dangerous for someone who doesn't know how to do it properly, and they will also do it free of charge, as long as you are paying for the visit already.
I think for just a nail trim it runs about $7 to $8, which isn't bad considering how tough it is to clip a large dogs nails sometimes, that's where we take our 78lb Pit bull, I always get scared I will cute them too short. It's a lot easier on us and her that way!
I'm not sure but in the long run it is better to do your own (a few trips pays for a good set of clippers), there are lots of instructions available on line, and if the concern is black nails, which my dogs have, grinding is a good alternative, you don't cut the quicks! the shorter you can keep the nails the better for the dog, keeps the feet in better shape and easier on your floors

Atheists if you are so smart: Why is it considered necessary to nail down the lid of a coffin?
eh? eh? answer me that one.Atheists if you are so smart: Why is it considered necessary to nail down the lid of a coffin?
so the person inside won't be able to complain about the lousy conditionsAtheists if you are so smart: Why is it considered necessary to nail down the lid of a coffin?
What the hell are you going on about?
Anyway I'm being embalmed.
I'm not an atheist, but I'll add my two cents anyway.
Maybe so the lid doesn't fall off if the coffin tips while being lowered into the grave, no one wants to see great aunt Martha dropped on her face.
Dead bodies that have not been embalmed smell as they decompose. Coffins are sealed and secured so that no one accidently opens it before burial.
what the...?
Maybe to keep animals out?
As a Christian I have to ask why this question was even asked. Coffins don't need to be nailed down...that myth is based on the superstitions of 200+ years ago (necromancy, vampires, etc) How exactly would the inability to answer a question, based on superstition from the past, somehow bring into question the intelligence of atheists?
they only nail the lid down if the body is in pieces, most coffins fit in so tight that they wont open anyway, i was told by a teacher
Especially since all that dirt is really heavy.
Anyway, it's my understanding that the soul commences to float upward even before the body is buried.
Like a little bubble in a 7-up.
It floats upward until it reaches the rarefied realm, and there it pops, and that's the end of that.
.
Most coffins don't require nails to keep the lid on or closed . Crude wooden boxes are usually nailed to keep the lid from falling off . I have no idea of what that has to do with religious belief , or the lack of it .
Religious people, if you are so smart why is it considered necessary to nail down the lid of a coffin?
Why would you target atheists in particular on this subject? I'm pretty sure that most every day people don't have much of an idea as to why this procedure is done, whether they're Christian, Muslim, Jewish, or Atheist.
1. Nailing shut a coffin speeds up the process of decay.
2. The nails are in place to make it harder for grave robbers, thieves, or crazed family members to open the casket and strip the body of valuables.
3. To seal out dirt, water, and other debris. Often times water would drip down and the glue that held the casket's lid on would rot and the lids would pop up, letting mud and other debris inside the casket.
4. To make it easier to re-open in such an instance that there was a controversy over the body buried.
Um, better safe than sorry?
So it doesnt come off when you're lowering the body into the ground
So superstitious people don't get scared of the boogie man.
To reverse the question, if it's anything supernatural, what good is nailing the lid shut going to do?
In case the body turns into a zombie or vampire, duh.
I never said I didn't believe in monsters, I just don't believe in god.
What does atheism have to do with burial?
That's one slippery slope you're riding on.
umm if your atheist you dont have to nail down a coffin?
This question is irrelevant
You will not need a coffin...
... you will be assimilated
erm respect to prove the person is finally gone, to know if it has been tampered with you never heard of burke and hare to body snatchers of scottland,
If you're so smart, why did you think this question had meaning?
PS:
I've been to a lot of funerals and I've never seen nails in a coffin. Are you thinking of the old American West? Or just still stuck in the movies?
I don't know, but if JC's coffin lid had been nailed down he wouldn't have resurrected himself. There would go the New Testament (and Christianity would not have been invented). The world would have been a better place.
*drink*
So it's harder for the zombie to get out?
So the lid doesn't fall off when it's being lowered?
I don't know, is this a trick question?
I think its a precaution to keep it from accidentally popping open during the lowering process.
What is this? 1870?
Casket lids haven't been nailed down for quite some time now.
Fundies if you are so smart: Why is it considered necessary to put it in a concrete box AND dump six feet of dirt on top of a coffin???
so the coffin doesnt get opened by anyone
duh
To protect the body from being detected by wild animals looking for food.
Well it depends on how many fundies we can stuff inside the coffin first...if we can get them all in then it will probably take a lot of nails and maybe some duct tape.
ZOMBIES!! Just because I don't believe in god doesn't mean that I'm not afraid of brain-eating zombies.
And why is digging up graves in my own country considered grave robbery and doing it abroad considered archeology? Eh? Eh?

I found a small bottle with a childlocked top in my sisters room and it smells like nail varnish remover!?
I told my dad who went on a huge ';dont do drugs'; and ';if i find out your friends are giving you drugs il call the police'; binge on her and i know it wont go anywhere in her mind.
Im obviously worried about it and i dont know what to do she said she was given it by a friend (she is 15) and she didnt ';take'; it. From the fact she said ';i didnt take it'; i assume she didnt sniff it or she would have said sniff but then maybe im just being stupid. I know she has smoked before and lied about it and she has depressive tendancies (cutting etc) she is in councilling at the moment but were just worried.

My rabbit broke a nail, how long will it take it to grow back?
I was clipping my rabbits nail and noticed that, to my surpise, he had somehow broken most of one of his nails off.
His nails are not too long, I check them and cut them as needed once a month. I don't know what he caught it on or what happened. I think that maybe he could have somehow broken it when he was playing out of his cage (he's an indoor rabbit) either inside the house or in his outside pen.
He's not limping or acting abnormal, but when I tried to clean it he pulled his paw away like it was painful. I called my vet and made him an apt. for friday, even though everything I read said that he should be fine as long as it doesn't get infected.
I was just wondering how long do you think it will take the nail to grow back? I know how painful it is when humans break off their nails too short and I feel bad for him. Hopefully it won't take to long, does anyone know??My rabbit broke a nail, how long will it take it to grow back?
Maybe a month or more?
Good luck.

I put nail caps on my dog. is it ok to keep them on her?
Yes they will wear themselves off. Then you can replace them if you want to.
Nail caps are thin pieces of plastic shaped like a dogs nail worn so the dog doesn't scratch anyone. And they also protect pool liners if you want your dog to swim in the pool. They are held on by an adhesive and are perfectly safe for dogs and cats.
I used them sometimes if I was bringing my dogs to nursing homes so the dogs nails wouldn't hurt the pacients skin. The elderly have very thin skin and can easily be scratched.I put nail caps on my dog. is it ok to keep them on her?
i can only assume the nail caps are serving a purpose? it would not be the most healthy thing to always have these on unless the dog was having a specific problem.I put nail caps on my dog. is it ok to keep them on her?
what the hell is a nail cap?? if the dog wasnt born with them, she doesn't need them... geesh
If your using Soft Paws they should be fine for 4-6 weeks unless one or two of them fall off. If she doesn't seem to be bothered by the caps %26amp; you're using them to prevent her from scratching your floors or whatever %26amp; they're working I don't see a problem its a win / win situation!
um.. it depends on the breed really
My dog wears blue ones to save our hard wood floors. He's fine with them. he tried to chew two off, but we rubbed them with lemon and that stopped.

How do i stop bitting my nails and how lond is it going to take to grow?
PLEASE HELP MEHow do i stop bitting my nails and how lond is it going to take to grow?
Not long, probably a week or two. You could buy some special polish from the drugstore by like Sally Hansan or something that helps to strengthen your nails and help them grow faster. How do i stop bitting my nails and how lond is it going to take to grow?
Purchase a bitter-tasting formula made expressly to stop nail biting. Choose the worst-tasting solution you can find.
Wash hands every morning with soap and water and towel dry.
Apply a liberal amount of the solution to the nails, cuticles and surrounding skin.
Continue to reapply the solution throughout the day as it wears off.
Reapply the solution at bedtime. Make sure the bitter taste is always present on your nails.
Manicures help. If your nails look really pretty, and taste bad, you will not bite as much. Acrylic nails will always ruin your natural nails and the nail bed, and so it is not a good idea to get acrylic nails if you want your nails to grow.
Take vitamins, pre-natal vitamins work really well, and also, a little known tip is to moisturize your nails twice a day. Rub lotion into your nailbed and your nails in the morning and before bed, and they will grow faster and stronger.
I've been bitting my nails ever since i was a baby, now i'm 13. A few months ago I started to paint on nail polish, just regular old nail polish and that prevented me from bitting my nails. (It was very expensive, and I don't like the taste of nail polish.) My nails grew the longest i've ever had them and i was so proud, I stopped painting them and started using a clear 'strengthening' nail polish. After that month they were long, and then i was at my friends house for a sleep over and I didn't have my nailpolish :\ So they broke, after that I started bitting them again, but I hope this could help you. :) Good luck!
I have my nail ver long and natural how i stop bitting them was by doing a full set getting my nails done. It took me a couple of months once they were long enough I took the fake nails off and left my reall ones now I just gat an overlay (the acirlic on top of my reall nail so they can be strong.) If you don't like fake nail put garlic every night to avoid bitting them and to help them grow hard.
I to had this prolbem for 30 yrs... Just stoped about 1 1/2 yrs ago. My solution was I like for my nails to look pretty so i would paint them and when i would bite them they would get messed up and then i would repaint them after a while you will get tired of painting them and just quit Good Luck with that also Buy jello in the box mix it with hot water and drink it it makes nails grow like crazy... Also it may be 7-10 days and you will soon see that the nail has started to grow... Thanks and hopes this help...:)
you can buy a special nail treatment from most chemists which makes your nails unpleasent to bite. i reccomend 'stop and grow'. im not sure how long it takes for your nails to grow though, probable 1-2 weeks?
File them so that there are no tempting edge to nibble and paint them. A soon as you bite them it will ruin the look so weird but makes me stop!
Good luck
You can always dip them in hot sauce. To help me stop, I paint my nails! That way, I don't bit them because I don't want to get a mouthful of paint!

Ingrown toe nail operations. How is it?
I'm going to have my ingrown toe nail (isn't too bad) operated on tomorrow, and fixed, so that my nail grows properly.
But.... I'm nervous.
What is it like?... does it take long?... do they use anesthetic? - does it hurt if they don't?...
After the operation, what happens?... Does it hurt going home?...
The biggest question of mine is.... WILL I BE ABLE TO GO TO SCHOOL THE SAME DAY? :(
I don't wanna miss class. I gotta hand stuff in. Anyways, anything else I should know beforehand?
Thanks!! :]Ingrown toe nail operations. How is it?

If you have a good podiatrist, its a pretty simple operation. They do it in maybe 15 minutes tops, they use anesthetic (but it would hurt if they didn't). They pretty much just cut the thing and yank it out. It will probably bleed a little bit, but they will bandage it up. It will feel funny and a little numb for a few hours, and after that it might hurt a tiny bit when you walk on it (but not much).
You should be able to go back to school, but don't expect to be playing any sports for a few days.Ingrown toe nail operations. How is it?
After cutting too short or too deep my toe nails, I experienced the painful growing of the side nails resulting to inflammation and oftentimes with a pus. This may only apply to me personally but I would like to share it with you with out the surgical procedure.
In your community or circle of friends ask them to look for a Filipino pedicurist who is an expert in trimming toe nails with an in-grown. They are such an expert that you don't have to pull out the entire nail but only trim off the protruding sharp point of the nail and cut to shape for comfort once the natural grows back. Just bring along with you a hydrogen peroxide to sanitize your toes, betadine solution to as anti-septic and a tube of neosporin to prevent infection or anti-biotic. Once the ingrown part is pull out, you would be surprised even the pain not only in the toes area but in your foot is also gone.
Wear shoes with Wide sizes and apply baby oil on your nails after drying from shower bath and before wearing your socks.
first don't be nervous ut does not hurt this is the procedure.
first they numb the toe and then when it is ready they remove the ingrown nail then your toe is bandaged and give you instructions not to wet the toe, so what you do is take a shower with the foot covered in a plastic bag, so not to wet the toe,
they should give you an appointment to remove the bandage and of course you can go to school the same day, there is no pain at all.
It doesnt take long but from what I remember they give you a shot behind your big toe to numb it I remember that pain being so painful. This was about 16 yrs ago so I dont know if they do it different now. Just try and relax and take slow breaths.cover girl
